THE DATA BEHIND THE PICTURE
World Bank APIs supply the catalogue and country observations. A shared cache keeps repeat visits fast and retains the last successful data if the source is unavailable.
Figures are refreshed from the API regularly, but annual statistics may lag by several years and can be revised. “Latest available” can compare different observation years. Choose a year for a like-for-like time comparison.
Annual observations from 1960 onward; coverage varies by indicator. Survey years may be sparse. Missing values are never treated as zero.
Browse a broad catalogue, plus a hand-picked Popular collection.
Only supported numeric annual country series with confirmed CC BY 4.0 metadata are displayed. The catalogue also contains records that may be unavailable. Aggregates and forecast-only sources are excluded. Source estimates and methodological limits remain relevant.
